# Highlighted comments fall off bottom of returned essay On a returned (graded) essay view, some highlighted comments near the end of the document fall below the visible viewport and aren't reachable through normal scrolling. ## Reproduction 1. As a student, open a graded/returned essay with comments anchored near the end. 2. Scroll to the bottom of the document. 3. Observe that some highlighted comments are positioned below the rendered scroll extent. ## Expected All comments are reachable. The page extends far enough that comments anchored near the end are visible. ## Actual The viewport stops short of the last few comments. Students miss feedback on the conclusion / final paragraphs. ## Impact Conclusions are precisely where teachers' most synthetic feedback often lives. Missing this comment band hides feedback the student needs. Reported 2026-05-01. ## Affected versions Reported 2026-05-01. ## Suspected cause Scroll container height doesn't include the comment overflow — likely the comments are absolutely positioned beyond the document's intrinsic height and the container clips them. Adjust the container's min-height or padding-bottom to accommodate the lowest-anchored comment. ## Workaround None. Students simply don't see those comments.
